Recently I was blessed to work with Sacred Heart Major Seminary and photograph the 2026 Ordination Mass. There were four men, Fathers Lizandro Barba, Karl Finkbeiner, James Musgrave III, and Daniel Whalen, who were ordained and will serve the Archdiocese of Detroit. The Mass took place at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. Often, the Cathedral celebrates weddings, but on that day it was celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Orders as Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger ordained these four men.
It was a cold, wet day in Detroit despite it being the end of May; however, the warmth inside the Cathedral was powerful as people from all around filled it to standing-room-only capacity. After the Ordination Mass took place, we went to Sacred Heart Major Seminary for a celebration and first blessings from the newly ordained priests.
