I had the pleasure of meeting one of my newest couples, Allison and Ian, for their Catholic engagement session at DeVries Nature Conservancy in Owosso, Michigan. They were an absolute joy to work with and looked so natural together in front of the camera. The evening couldn't have been more beautiful, with perfect lighting that made every moment even more magical. I’m already looking forward to celebrating with them on their wedding day! Until then, I’m excited to share a preview of their engagement session.
Megan and Brendan celebrated their beautiful Catholic wedding Mass at Church of the Divine Child in Dearborn, MI. I first met them last year when we did their engagement photos and can't believe how fast time went by, their wedding day was finally here... It was a beautiful Nuptial Mass where Megan and Brendan took part in the beautiful sacrament. The ceremony was filled with joy as they celebrated this sacrament in front of family and friends. After the Catholic wedding Mass, we went to Fair Lane Estates in Dearborn for portraits with the bridal party. It was a gorgeous day on the beautiful grounds there. The celebration then continued at St. Mary's Banquet & Cultural Center in Livonia. It was a gorgeous spring day and their friends and family showered them with prayers, love and memories.
Grace and Paolo celebrated their beautiful Catholic wedding Mass at St. Isidore Church in Macomb, Michigan. Not only were they married at St. Isidore Church, but they also exchanged their vows on St. Isidore's feast day. It was a beautiful Nuptial Mass in which Grace and Paolo embraced the Catholic tradition of walking into the church together, rather than following the more common American custom of the bride being escorted down the aisle by her father to meet her soon-to-be husband. The ceremony was filled with joy as they celebrated the sacrament of marriage before their family and friends. Following the Catholic wedding Mass, the celebration continued at Paint Creek Country Club in Lake Orion. It was a gorgeous spring day, and their friends and family showered them with prayers, love, and cherished memories.
Recently I was blessed to work with Sacred Heart Major Seminary and photograph the 2026 Ordination Mass. There were four men, Fathers Lizandro Barba, Karl Finkbeiner, James Musgrave III, and Daniel Whalen, who were ordained and will serve the Archdiocese of Detroit. The Mass took place at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit. Often, the Cathedral celebrates weddings, but on that day it was celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Orders as Archbishop Edward J. Weisenburger ordained these four men.
Earlier this year I had the opportunity take Catholic portraits for the Detroit Catholic, a publication of the Archdiocese of Detroit. The session was at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rochester, MI. It was a great time working to create some images for their story. As always, please reach out if you are looking for Catholic portraits.
As a Detroit Catholic photographer, I recently had the great opportunity in early December to spend two days with Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, OFM. Cardinal Pizzaballa was visiting the Archdiocese of Detroit (AOD) for a brief trip. The AOD hosted the first event at Saint John's Resort in Plymouth, MI where they held a charity event entitled, "United in Faith: Bridging Hearts from the Motor City to the Holy Land." The evening started with a press conference for the media, followed by a VIP cocktail hour, and concluded with a delightful evening in The Monarch ballroom. The evening was filled with hope in the Lord and for the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and his flock.
